I was very disappointed to find out that the center speaker’s left outlet hole (the speaker has two holes)does not really work!! I called LG and they told me that it’s the design of the system!!! The center speaker although has two holes but it has only one speaker which comes out of the right outlet hole. So the left one is just for looks and nothing else!!!

Why would LG design such a thing? Why not just leave it with one outlet hole or better yet place two speakers in the center speaker so both holes can generate sounds?!! I just do not know such a design and to me it’s highly flawed.

All in all it’s not a terrible home theater system if you’re expectation is not state of the art system!!

I bought this on Feb 15, 2009. It worked fantastic for a few months. It did have a problem with upconverting some DVDs. Screen would flash and drop out periodically. Chose to change default HDMI out video quality from auto to 480p. I haven’t been able to get any video on screen since then. I really need to do a factory reset but it won’t work and LG tech support is unable to help. I can get video if I use A/V cables. Computer that is hooked up to the same TV is still able to send video via HDMI so I know it’s not the TV. I wouldn’t recommend this.

  4. I pressed one of the Progressive-scan options on this unit by accident. Once you do this, there is no way to ever get an image back unless you do not use HDMI, only component. Meaning you get a crappy 480 image that is worse than an x-box video play.

So I called customer service. Questioned, how do you do a reset? There is no way. The guy was rude and lectured me that I should not have pressed a video mode if it was the incorrect one. I pointed out that the manual says it only displays the options that will work. Anyway long tale small, LG customer service is as crappy as this unit.

I will not be buying LG products again, as the low quality is rivaled only by the low quality support.

Do not buy this unit. It’s deceptively low price should be a warning, as in you get what you pay for.

  5. IT’S AN OK PRODUCT, WILL RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE, WORKS BEST ON DVD AND OK WITH D REST, THANKS
