Got these for my mom so she had something for her Mp3 player and TV, and she is pleased with them.

    Pros:

    Cheap 5.1 speaker system

    Cons:

    Cheap 5.1 speaker system.

    Small subwoofer.

    Under powered.

Speaker wire hard wired to satellite speakers.

    Small speaker wires.

    Controls on the subwoofer.

I give these speakers a low rating simply because the 5.1 speaker system I have is the Logitech Z5300.

I have to say, I was a small skeptical about this speaker set when looking at it online. The reviews were helpful. The installation was simple as expected, although i was a small confused when i first got it, I did not know they were set up so you can hook up all the speakers to the sub woofer then get some AV cables(red and white to red and white, which were included), and you can plug it straight into your TV or DVD player!! Certainly a bonus if you don’t want to/can’t pick up a receiver straight away. They might not be so fantastic if you have a large room, but i live in a two-bed town house and they are more than enough to fill my room with surround sound, i can finally hear the light footsteps of someone coming up behind me…

We needed a set of speakers to “boost” our TV speakers and I was hesitant about these due to their being so cheap. But I read the reviews and chose if they weren’t excellent, I was only out $40. Wow…very, very glad that I chose to get these! We do not have a home entertainment center (surround sound) so we are only using the TV L/R inputs…have all speakers set up around the living room (like the long surround wires) and they sound awesome! Crisp highs, steady lows, and consistent variables! No distortion (even when on XM Satellite stations and booming) and while the RCA cords are small, they reached from our TV to the receiver/subwoofer.

The only complaint? No remote to turn volume up or down. As we have them run through our TV outputs in the back, our TV remote will not reduce the sound…a excellent remote control would have been worth paying an extra $10; my husband says Cody is contributing to the “beat out obesity” trend in our world by making us get up off the couch and turn the unit down! ;-)

Highly recommended and very satisfied! Took us less than 10 minutes to set it up and the speaker wires are all color coordinated – simple to install.

Thank you Amazon and Cody for another fantastic electronic product!

  4. For $40, plus about 40′ of speaker cable spliced into the left, right, and center speakers, this is a fantastic product. Since my media room has the receiver mid-room, the small cables on the L/C/R speakers was insufficient. It was a simple task to splice in some extra speaker cable though.

It’s just a 20′ x 13′ media room, but these speakers fill it pretty decent and I have no complaints.

  5. Simple to set up. I am limited in space where I set this up and it fits in very nicely. You can’t beat the price for this unit. You might want something larger if you have a very large room. A remote control would be nice, but at this low price you can’t expect everything!
